One of the largest departments
The Department of General Pediatrics is one of the largest departments in the Hospital.
We are here to manage the health of your child, including physical, behavior, and mental health issues. We are trained to diagnose and treat childhood illnesses, from minor health problems to serious diseases.
We provide medical care to infants, children, adolescents and young adults. We diagnose and treat illnesses, medical conditions and injuries. Easing the lives of children with chronic conditions is another concern.
Doctors of this department provide inpatient and outpatient clinical care at the Hospital. Faculty in the Department are also involved with teaching of post graduate students and fellows.
Special Features
- Single- or double-occupancy rooms that comply with guidelines for prevention of nosocomial infections and that are large enough to accommodate parents, who may choose to stay with their children.
- Location of beds to allow for observation and supervision of patients by nursing staff.
- Oxygen and electrical outlets at each bed, with access to the hospital emergency power system.
